In any discourse (no mater how simple) if you don't have a clear idea of where someone is coming form you will have a problem. Also, If you disagree on just the basic terms, then how can any more be said without even more problems. . .So in my "intro" post I will be briefly establishing "where I'm coming from"
Firstly, I'm just a regular guy (for the most part) No degree worth mentioning, no special training and no hidden agenda (That I know of . . .lol) I have an affinity for questions and and I've asked my share of them. Along the course of my life I have had the privilege of experiencing much without much dire consequence. Along the way I made a decision to accept and follow the teachings of Jesus. It wasn't a big deal to me at the time (around 10 years of age) but as I grew this choice has literally given me some of the most crucial things I needed in order to get to the point I am at now. Yet with all I have been given, it has come with some real "baggage". I guess "The Search. . ." is my attempt to sort through all of this "baggage" In future post I will be starting (briefly) with the things I have fully accepted ( The existence of God, the revelation of His will in the Bible, The person of Christ, etc. . .) Then I'll elaborate more on the things that are more "problematic" for me ( literal vs.figurative interpretation, eschatology , law vs. grace ,etc. . .) The more unsure I am of something is the longer that post will probably be. Of course I will be reading (and recommending) a ton of books and other resources so don't expect a post every day. I'm also in grad school right now for Physical Therapy (of all things. . .) so don't be surprised if you see a random post of things that have nothing to do with faith (relatively anyway). So ultimately this is an opportunity for me to get real feedback from real people about some of the many things I find important. I'm coming from a science background so I tend to stay away from making absolute statements and I tend to do a lot of reevaluating and comparing of ideas and thoughts (repeatedly). So you know the topics that are more troublesome for me, I will be looking very critically at both sides of the argument. . .sorry in advance. . .I get pretty "wordy" in these kinds of discourses .
I look forward to your thoughts and input. . .book recommendations are extremely valuable to me and I will take them seriously. . .

ReplyDeleteI read it and I totally understand your need of expressing yourself, beliefs, doubts etc........I know that God will truly reach out to you and bless you as a result because you have a desire and passion to know more about Him, not only know more about Him, but to ensure that you serve Him in an acceptable way as well. What especially stood out to me Beres while reading your "introduction to the blog world" was that there are many individuals going through what you are going through,and because you have the faith to search for truth and ask other believers their take on the matter, you will find what you are seeking after, not only will you find it, but i believe that other individuals will be blessed, closer drawn to God, and dedicated to serving Him in a way in which He accepts. We speak briefly on the matter of your concerns from time to time, and I honestly understand your take on things. I always say to myself that I fully know where you are coming from because just like me, you are not stuck in a box of religion, or faith, or even your expectations of who Jesus is and what He can do( unlike other Christians). You are not fashioned after the spiritual life of your family, friends, those around you etc........but you seek to make your walk and relationship your own;outside of typical rules, laws, regulations, and the norm. Just ensure that when going on this journey, that CHRIST IS KEY dude, as long as Christ is your primary focus and not works, the law, salvation and the list goes on,you will be in turn directed BY GOD, to the law, salvation, works and the list goes on(if you know what I mean). Again, I admire and support you one hundred percent in this because you refuse to be led by yourself, by your "church", even your up bringing, but you are going back to the source, the Creator God who spoke in the beginining and it was done, you are going back to the God that molded you from the ground, you are going back to the source that woke you up this morning dude, and thats what it should be, this is what we should all be doing.I could write a whole book on this,so I will stop here, people already call me a radical, I just gave them a reason to believe that even more. lol Anyway, God bless and just know EVERYTHING THAT WE DO IS FOR HIS GLORY!!HE IS COMING SOON FOR HIS PEOPLE, SO CONTINUE TO SEEK AFTER HIM AND PUT ON HIS CHARACTER.
